Who I am
I previously qualified as a youth and community worker, and have spent several years working for advice, support and youth services in York and Leeds. I still work regularly with local young people's services to develop publicity, images, films and online / social media presence.
As well as my design and photography work, I spent twelve years developing and running online support services for carers at a UK national charity. I've also been a founding trustee of two local charities, including serving as the Chair of one, and am currently a trustee of a major national one so have a great familiarity with the voluntary sector, large and small.
I'm accredited by the British Humanist Association as a celebrant for non-religious wedding, partnership, naming and funeral ceremonies, and spent three years as an elected member of our national Ceremonies Board. If you're that way inclined and in the York / Yorkshire area, give me a ring.
Finally, for eleven years I spent two or three evenings a week wearing a top hat telling ghost stories on the streets of York. Perhaps you've seen me.
